That is so true.
And the more we know the God of the Bible, ‘the things of this world grow strangely dim’ like the old hymn speaks of.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
O soul, are you weary and troubled?
No light in the darkness you see?
There’s light for a look at the Savior,
And life more abundant and free.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
2 Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there;
O’er us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conqu’rors we are!
3 His Word shall not fail you, He promised;
Believe Him and all will be well;
Then go to a world that is dying,
His perfect salvation to tell!
My experience confirms this pithy statement. And I have also found, He also sometimes helps those who can’t help themselves like going up on that old rugged cross for us.
This is one of those age old paradoxes.
Let us do all we can with all we got while trusting God that our best is good enough and He’s got the rest we need. He is the ultimate Hero and different Maker.
What about you? Can you confirm, deny and/or supplement this?
