Perspective issues have caused a lot of my problems in my relationship with God – too often!
I just realized something that we all have, that might just make a difference in how we follow God.
I have worked for several very large corporations in the past.
I went in, did my job; and took a paycheck.
I was loyal to each company, as long as they took care of me.
There was one thing, though, that I’ve never had in any one of them.
For me, something was always missing in the loyalty part of things.
When I did not get what I needed from them; or especially if I was not paid well enough, I left and looked elsewhere for something more.
Time and time again, something was missing; and I left looking for more.
I could say I was loyal; but since I quit so much, there was no loyalty to any of them – at all.
I am an American; and I’m loyal to my country.
We have a President; and I vote to help put my choices in office.
Sometimes I win; and sometimes I lose.
The country changes with each new administration; and I adapt with whatever changes are made in front of me.
I don’t always agree with every decision the current President decides; but I’m an American, so I stay here anyway.
I don’t stay because of the President; but because this is my home.
I guess I’m loyal to this country, at least in that I have never considered leaving it for another country.
Here’s the perspective part that’s been missing.
I’ve never met the CEO of any very large corporation, where I worked.
None of them have ever met me; nor even knew who I was.
They didn’t come to me to help me stay, when I had problems.
After I left, “they” found another person to take my place.
I have never met any sitting President of the United States.
I’m loyal to this country; and I intend to stay here the rest of my life.
I vote; but the President, either way, never comes to my house to thank me.
I never see them wave to me as I go to work each day; and I am pretty sure, I will never meet any one of them.
Yet I am loyal to them, in a way, at least.
Here’s my point!
I have been a Christian most of my life.
There is a God who made everything and controls everything.
I’ve mostly served Him; but I’ve had struggles at times, running off to serve my own: wants; desires; and needs.
I know God is my Father;
but I’ve viewed Him like the CEO of a large corporation;
or the President of a country.
He is distant to me, too much.
I have missed the truth about something which is very different with God, separating Him from all who are in authority; over every part of this world.
I am pretty confident that there are NO leaders of any large group, that have time or desire to KNOW all of their employees.
Even the best President in the history of this country, did not have time; or even desire to reach out to all of those serving under them.
They might know a few very top officials around them;
but no one will be coming to my house in the near or far future to sit down with me and chat.
They won’t even call me to see if I am OK; or if I need something.
No one has ever come to my town to: find me; comfort me when I was hurting; or in trouble.
Perspective!
We serve A Living God,
Who is greater than any CEO; or President;
or even father of any household in the history of mankind!
He could sit on His Throne and oversee everything from Heaven, using His officials to run everything beneath Him.
He never needs to: call me to see if I have any questions; nor come to see if I am hurting and afraid.
But this King we serve, is different!
He does not choose to sit back; and let the world run through use of His massive group of servants.
This King runs everything – personally!
Not only that, this King made a way to help everyone!
Right down to every single person who ever lived; and right down to the number of hairs on our heads,
HE KNOWS US ALL BY NAME!
Then, He sends His Very Own Son to save us all!
God does not have a distant relationship with me; or you!
He does come to my town!
He does come to my house!
He does sit down with me in Person, to see what I need; and see why I’m hurting!
He does not only want to know me;
He knows me better than I know myself!
GOD, not only signs my paycheck;
He has covered my future,
forever –
with His Own BLOOD!
Been Missing!”

My Pondering
Good analogy / story.
The hard thing is God is currently invisible to us. He doesn’t have physical form in this world. None of our senses are able to see, hear, touch, smell or otherwise.
So we need to develop out faith sense. We need to use our inner soul to connect, not our physical bodies.
If our quasi sixth sense is ‘intuition’ then our best sense, our seventh sense, by help and required impartation of the Holy Spirit, is ‘faith’.
Yes, Jesus is our boss, friend, co-servant, big brother and so much more. When we relate to Him by the Spirit, we know the Father.
Its not just what you know it’s also, more importantly, who you know. He surely knows you.
Seek and ye shall find He says.
