“How precious to me are Your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I would count them, they are more than the sand.I awake, and I am still with You.”
Psalms 139:17—18

My take: This is so intriguing and convicting.
David is consumed with God’s thoughts! He literally takes it personal.
God’s capacity is mindblowing! The quantity! The quality!
He then writes, “I awake, and am still with you”. I wonder if he means that he is still connected to God? Think about how an obedient and good dog stays near his caretaker. And how the dog’s owner checks on and provides for his own.
Or maybe still is referring to peace and serenity with God. No worries….God has my back type of still. Wasn’t it he who God spoke and said, “be still and know that I am God”? Yes in 46:10. And in 23:2 David testified that, “God leads him by still waters”.
Either way, it’s good because God is good.

My prayer: God, yes today I am awake, and am still with You. May it be so all my tomorrows.
