Pondering Psalms 9:1-2

” I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”
Psalms 9:1-2

My take: In this passage is an example of a great way we see David praising God. 1st, he is thankful to the Lord, not some vague entity, but the living God himself. The 2nd point I want to mention is he does it with his WHOLE heart. He is all in! Next, he intentionally looks back to the past and remembering God’s track record. His mighty deeds, wonderful works and victories. Fourth, David uses his will and chooses to be glad in God, not himself. And lastly, he sings God’s praises. David is talented and diverse man; mighty warrior, strong leader, talented musician, gifted poet and writer and so much more.

My prayer: Lord, help me to learn from David here. To praise and raise up to You this and every day that You make possible!
