For this reason, the beginning of all wisdom is to fear the Lord. Yes, fear. Not to be confused with false wreck-less fear but one of respect, awe, and of magnitude.
“The voice of the LORD is powerful;
Psalms 29:4
the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.”
It is His voice which commanded the universe, earth and all indwelled to come into existence, and despite a fall, remains today. In Revelation, Christ’s voice will be as a sword when He returns a 2nd time, not as a lamb, as a full fledged lion. Yet, God sometimes speaks thru the Holy Spirit as a soft whisper.
Therefore, I think Micah 6:8 is a great verse for us mortal beings to live by:
“Do what is right,
to love mercy,
and to walk humbly
with my God.”
– Micah 6:8
I’d like to read your take on this. Leave me a comment and let’s ponder life together.
My prayer:
Lord, prompt me to listen for your voice and train me to miss it not.
