“The LORD is near to all who call on Him,
Psalms 145:18
to all who call on Him in truth.”

My take: What an interesting and wonderful statement David makes here. Of particular interest is David twice says ‘all who call’. All who call. Not some chosen, not the elect, but all. ALL!

The redundancy here is for a reason. We must call. CALL. Like a person who has fallen overboard from a ship into the tumultuous sea calls. Like a wide receiver who calls for his quarterback to pass when open. Like a soldier in intense combat who need air support calls.
We call when there is a need and we call who can help.
Next we read not just calling randomly but calling ‘on Him’. The God of the Bible, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God who is Jesus incarnate.
Lastly, the call must be done in truth. Not abstract, not oblivious, not random but in truth.
All
Call
Him
Truth
The greater the need, the greater the call. But we must call correctly; in truth. God’s 911 number is JESUS. Not 822 or 411.

My take: Lord, thank You for answering my call in September of 1995. I will never forget that and never forget You.
