Does Iron Really Sharpen Iron?

“As iron sharpens iron, So one man sharpens [and influences] another [through discussion].” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭27:17‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Iron sharpens Iron is a tried and true passage for sure. I love this analogy however struggled with actual ‘iron sharping iron’ as that it seems difficult if not impossible. I am certainly not a metallurgist but ever time I sharpen a knife or have seen, its normally a stone or other type of abrasive material that is harder that the iron substance,

The Bible tells when two or more believers are gathered together, Jesus is amongst them. He is the sharpening substance, the flint, the grinding wheel.

When we meet and work together, let trust and guide one another to the diamond infused sharpening tool and allow Him to do the sharpening as we guide and assist one another in brotherly

    I love this! I really enjoy the point about Jesus being the flint. Without Him, we are unable to sharpen one another. He is the sharpener of our faith! Great thoughts.
