Pondering – Psalms 8:3-6

Pondering Psalms 8:3-6
“When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?

Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings
and crowned him with glory and honor.

You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
you have put all things under his feet,”

My take: On one hand compared to God’s majestic universe we humans are just a blimp, hardly nothing. Yet, on the other we are God’s highest creation and made in His image. Let us take advantage of the resources and our dominion to employ these assets wisely. It certainly is our physical assets that give us the winning edge. For many creatures in the animal kingdom are faster, stronger and tougher. Many can smell, see and hear better. Not to mention run, swim and fly faster. Fly period. So our edge must be our brain and heart. Emotion, Creative, Imagination, Cognition, Prayer and our amazing Subconscious mind is the differentiator.

Lord, help me make the most of three great assets you have given me; time, talent and treasure.
