The 5 R’s of Salvation

1. REALIZE REALITY of wretched sin

Romans 3:23 – for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

Genesis 3 – the Great Fall

2. RECOGNIZE REDEMPTION from the rages of sin is possible

Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 6:23 – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16 – For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

3. REQUIRED REPENTANCE regarding sin. We must be remorseful and regret our sinful self

Acts 3:19 – Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.

4. RECEIVE RESTORATION of your relationship to the Father in Jesus by the Spirit

Romans 10:13 – For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

1st Peter 1:8-9 – Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and though you do not see Him now, you believe in Him and rejoice with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9now that you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

5. RESULTS ASSURED when we trust and obey God in love and faith

Romans 5:1 – Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Romans 8:28 – And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

1st John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
