Pondering Proverbs 21:1 – The King’s heart

Pondering Proverbs 21:1
“The king’s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord;
he turns it wherever he will.”

My take: Here it is clear that God may choose to exercise control of a leader’s, or anyone’s, heart (will or motivation). Somethings, many, are beyond our comprehension as the good book states, ‘His ways are higher than ours’. Yet God being God choses when and where, all the while gives us micro access to exercise our own free will as Moses wrote in Genesis we were ‘created in His image’. Thus we have a finite ability to plan, create, imagine, build and so forth; all within His prerogative. Many of new age gurus neglect some of the bedrock attributes and principles laid down by the Creator. God is a person with feelings not some cosmic vending machine. So yes, the rain falls on both the just and unjust. We should not ignore that God cares, reigns and deserves respect.

Key words: heart, He turns, He wills

My prayer: Thank You for sharing and caring creation and a piece of You in us. May I feel your strong presence in my breath, vision and heart.
