Pondering Proverbs 5:12 — 5:14

Pondering Proverbs 5:12 — 5:14
and you say, “How I hated discipline,
and my heart despised reproof!
I did not listen to the voice of my teachers
or incline my ear to my instructors.
I am at the brink of utter ruin
in the assembled congregation.”

My take: A stern warning here. There is a reason God implores that we be a one woman man (or one man woman). Solomon should have taken his own advice as having too many wives was a big part of his big fall and the same for his father, David. One thing I appreciate about the Bible is its ‘candor’.
If we get in sync with the Creator’s principles and are obedient, we no doubt are in a much better position to succeed in life rather than forfeiting it for a lack of discipline.

Action words, NOTS : despised, not listen, nor incline.

My prayer: Help me Lord to heed the examples set for here and be disciplined in all my endeavors.
