Pondering Proverbs 10:18 / Oct 10

Pondering Proverbs 10:18
“The one who conceals hatred has lying lips,
and whoever utters slander is a fool.”

My take:

This is a peculiar verse. It ‘seems’ unbiblical at 1st glance.
I find these types of paradox’s intriguing.

From Webster dictionary the definition of :

‘Hatred’: a : intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury
b : extreme dislike or antipathy : loathing

Slander: : the act of making a false spoken statement that causes people to have a bad opinion of someone
: a false spoken statement that is made to cause people to have a bad opinion of someone

The key differences are slander is ‘false’ while it may be just to hate. What hate? Yes, it is proper to hate what God hates such as evil, lying, laziness, stealing, injustice, prejudice, etc.

What does it take for evilness to thrive?

A good person to do nothing!

Just like weeds in a garden.

What is darkness? The absence of light.
Coldness? The absence of heat.
Indifference? The absence of caring
Hell? The absence of love
God is love.

My prayer:

Holy Father, I need you to grant discernment and perspective from your vantage point. Help me to see the world thru biblical glasses not fake rose colored ones. Help us to be positive and real and do Your good and pleasing will.
