Pondering the Gospels, Matthew 7:15 — 16

Mat 7:15 — 16
A Tree and Its Fruit
“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will recognize them by their fruits.

My take: Yes indeed. As ole’ Abe Lincoln was fond of saying, ‘ you can fool some of the people all the time and you can fool all the people some of the time but you cannot fool all the people all the time’. Sooner or later, we shall discover the real deal by the product. The output. In this political season especially, we know, ‘ talk is cheap while action is dear’.

So lets be diligent fruit inspectors, starting with ourselves. And it all starts with good input and good intent!

Jesus elaborates and says here Matthew 7:18, “A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit.”
So it is not that there isn’t fruit that is produced rather it is diseased, deformed, and rotten. Almost anybody can do something once but how do you do in the long haul requires divine help.

So let’s get healthy. Get spraying the Holy insecticide because Jesus warns us if not, a brush fire is looming for the diseased.

My prayer: God, by your blood I know I am positionally made clean and healthy in Christ. There I intend to abide and slowly but surely get better and better, day by day until you call me home and this soul is purifed all made possible by Your Spirit and Son.

Good fruit
