Love the Sinner, Hate the Sin – the center of the mark

My Pondering

Pondering Psalms 119:128
“Therefore I consider all Your precepts to be right;
I hate every false way.”

My take: Yes, sometimes its good to hate. That’s not being ‘hateful’ its being right. It means you value truth and love over lying and evil.

Where should we look for our standard? Agnostic philosophers, little children, the animal kingdom, politicians, hollywood actors? No, no, no, no, no. 1st and foremost should be God and specifically the clear and undeniable precepts found within.

pre·cept ˈprēˌsept/Submit
noun plural noun: precepts

  1. a general rule intended to regulate behavior or thought.
    “moral precepts”
synonyms: principle, rule, tenet, canon, doctrine, command, order, decree, dictate, dictum, injunction, commandment.

God, in His infinite wisdom, gave us the ability to choose; to exercise our free will. Why? For sure, you need to ask Him. I speculate after years of thought that its because of love. To truly love in this world of opposites and extremes it requires our ability to choose not to love or its contrived and manipulated.

Is the opposite of love to hate? No, the it is essentially ‘indifference, the lack of love’. God at His core is love, so proclaims the Bible. The pinnacle of this can be found in John 3:16. Don’t you know that one by heart? Just in case and because i love it, here it is: “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”

So godly hate is not the opposite of love rather its a force that aims to stop whatever power that attacks the roots of love. It is having passion, righteous anger towards whatever influence impedes true love from blossoming and staying healthy.

In Psalm 97:10a we find, “O you who love the LORD, hate evil!”

Right now, extremest Muslims are jihading for this cause. They have plenty of hate but desperately lacking love and most certainly a relationship with the one and true God and His beloved son, Jesus Christ. So it so important to keep rightous hate in check by greater love.

In Proverbs 6:16 — 19 we read:
“There are six things that the Lord hates,
seven that are an abomination to him:
haughty eyes, a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood,
a heart that devises wicked plans,
feet that make haste to run to evil,
a false witness who breathes out lies,
and one who sows discord among brothers.”

My prayer:

LORD, I want love what You love and hate what You hate. Help me to love the sinner and hate the sin. To love myself and hate the sin entrenched in my old man, my flesh. I know love wins and You are love. Amen!

How shall you respond?

Thank God Jesus didn’t leave us but rather loves us

XY and XX, that’s it!

My Pondering

You have to be a really special person or especially lost if you want to defy both God and unequivocal science. Both equal, men and women, yet both different, as created from the very beginning.

Facts are’s time to stop living in fairytales and live in reality because it’s damaging our society and confusing people.

Forever, O LORD, Your word is firmly fixed in the Heavens.

My Pondering

The Psalmist wasn’t disillusioned or off kilter when he wrote “forever, oh Lord, Your word is firmly fixed in the heavens”. God’s word is His way, His promise and His will; that will never be thwarted.

He has given us the gift, and the curse, of a (semi) free well yet He reigns in spite of and because of our actions and in-actions, we remain His servants, willing vessels or not, He controls what matters most; time, space, and matter as He so desires.

This is one reason that abortion on demand is so wrong. It usurps and is an abuse of our free will. We aren’t God. We shouldn’t take an innocent person’s life, born or not. There is life in the blood, in that of a beating heart, with his or her own unique DNA and everlasting, God breathed soul.

The world is broken, if you haven’t noticed. It’s still beautiful, God still loves it and us (see John 3:16), but until Christ comes back and God wipes the slate and recreates it for good, we are caught in the ultimate paradox between good and evil.

Willing or unwilling, we serve at the pleasure of God. The question is will we be good servants or bad servants?

Word over World

Let’s Pray

PS – Did you notice, ‘Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth, as in heaven’ relevance?

You are loved

God is a God of unlimited abundance and love. He deserves and demands we seek Him will ALL if hearts, soul, mind and strength for we were created for this very purpose.

I don’t likely know who you are or that when and if you are reading this post right now but God does. He cares and His word promises His love. If you haven’t and aren’t living for and loving Him in return, there is no time like the present. He awaits. His word is forever but the time for your salvation is not. Why not today, why not now.

Do you Believe, Trust and Accept…?

My Pondering

It’s the ultimate question…it truly is.

Please, do yourself a favor, the biggest one now and forever.

This is about you yet it’s not.

It’s about what Jesus did for you.

The gift of grace is before you…

…but you, and only you, must believe, trust and accept God’s gift which is opened by faith alone unto Jesus alone. This is the Father’s will for you. You journey begins in the Good Book, like John 1:1 where the Word is revealed.

If this rings true, if it resonates through all the worldly noise…let me, this author know. It would be my privilege and duty to assist as God would help me.
